Description |
| Type A |
 |
Designed for use in small centrifugal pumps, can be used to
seal most types of aqueous solutions, light oils, and liquids. Compact design is ideal for tight
applications. Used in pools, spas, shallow water pumps, etc. |
| Type B |
 |
Low profile design, ideal for applications
where space is limited. Good vibration resistance and operational at
relatively high speeds. Used in engine coolant pumps, centrifugal
pumps, etc. |
| Type C |
 |
Extremely versatile seal used in rotary and centrifugal
pumps. Generally used in water based applications, but can be used
for sealing in most light fluid pumping conditions. Used in
compressors, agitators, chillers, etc. |
| Type D |
 |
Very similar to Type C seals, with the
exception of the spring placement. Type D Seals allow for the same
spring loads with a shorter working length. Also used in
compressors, agitators, chillers, etc. |
| Type E |
 |
Similar to the Type C seals, with the
exception of the spring location. The spring pushes against the back
face of the seal head and allows for longer working lengths where
required. Also used in compressors, chillers |
| Type K |
 |
This is a Type C seal with a sealing head on
each end of the spring. Allows for double sealing for applications
where a safety backup might be required. Often used in vertical
applications. |
| Type N |
 |
Low profile seals used in conditions where
high shaft speed or high vibration conditions exist. Often used in
shallow water, swimming pool, and spa pumps. |
| Type Q |
 |
Low pressure seal design. Full
elastomer coverage on exposed surfaces allows for greater protection in
harsh environments. Also allows for use in sterile
environments. Often used in appliances, icemakers, milk pumps and
other light duty applications. |
| Type U |
 |
Unitary seal design combines seal and seat
into one, easy to install, unit. Ideal for high speed/vibration
conditions exist. Also an excellent choice for reducing production
assembly times. Used in smaller shaft diameter, light duty pumps of
all types. |
| Type X |
 |
Heavy duty, multi-spring seal for severe
service applications. Allow for higher temperature and pressure
applications. Used in medium duty pumps of all types. |
